~ John Huston: The Man, The Movies, The Maverick (SD; 2:08:13) a feature length, incredibly in-depth and insightful look at the man and the legend, hosted by Robert Mitchum, and featuring interviews with a glut of people who worked with him, as well as ex-wives and his children Anjelica and Danny. ~ Discovering Treasure: The Story of the Treasure of the Sierra Madre (SD; 49:57), another really interesting feature on the background of the film, including the mysterious author of the original novel, B. Traven. ~ Warner Night at the Movies (SD; 25:14), the recreation of what going to a theater in 1948 to see Sierra Madre might have been like. Here you get (after an optional Leonard Maltin introduction) a trailer for Key Largo, a Newsreel, a cartoon (Hot Cross Bunny, and a Joe McDoakes short entitled So You Want to Be a Detective. ~ A bonus Bugs Bunny cartoon (8 Ball Bunny, included here in SD, while on the March of the Penguins BD it was in 1080p Academy HD) and an audio only radio version of the film, as well as the film's original trailer, round out the extras. |
